Looking from front of car, it's the first alloy section in front of the Inlet Manifold. Connects to the right hand side of the plastic "Turbo Diesel" bit via a section of rubber hose about 3 inches long.
The EGR pipe you need to block of is the stainless pipe that enters on the left hand side and is secured by 2 x 13mm bolts. The EGR is the domed section sticking out on the right hand side, a rubber vaccum pipe conects via push-fit to the underside.
Get a coke can, cut a section out big enough to fold over to double the thickness and place over the pipe. Re-tighten the bolts evenly and it will sandwich in and seal the pipe.
Omegatoy reckons it is just a short term fix and will last about 100 miles. A steel plate is more permanent.
Having said that, I checked my coke can fixit after doing around 80 miles and it is fine. Not even a trace of it burning through.
Cleaning the EGR is not much of a job either. Mr Muscle oven cleaner worked a treat.
