Title: How does this sound, HELP
Post by: Rebel on 20 May 2009, 17:29:05
Its an ex police car and done about 40k since. Thoughts on repair cost and current driveability please????

Magic grey metalic & blue grey velour with wood effect console
157338miles
MOT September
fully loaded, just about everything except leather
Stack CD changer
Climate control
Heated electric seats
Cruise control
Alloy wheels
Factory alarm
Dunlop SP3000 only done 1000miles on front so 7mm
Michelin rear & spare 3mm
Original paint - very few blemishes - some surface rust on both rear doors by window seal & same on tailgate
Cloth trim & carpets pretty good throughout
Drives smoothly & runs exceptionally well for age

Areas to consider needing attention

Offside rear side window in door shattered (Mowing accident two weeks ago!!) Can be seen in photo.
Sunroof closed but can sometimes be reluctant to do so.
Drivers door check strap loose
Coolant leak from possibly heater matrix not yet confirmed, but does need sorting.

Drivability - ?? depends on how bad water leak is

Repair costs - window glass?  Door strap quite cheap.  Sunroof probable no cost - try lubing and resetting!!
Water leak?

if i was after one i would go for it, after all it looks like the owner has got a posh house so it aint a council estate car [not all council estates are bad of course ;) ;)]

i bought this car last night. have spoken to the chap & it seems to me that the scuttle drain is blocked as the water is coming in near the accelerator pedal. may have got a bargain here.  :y
