Title: ABS / ECU do they separate insitu?
Post by: oro on 21 May 2009, 13:53:23
Hi all,
You have all agreed my symptoms of ABS / TC lights on, no speedo or cruise control and now intermittant loss of power steering is that my ABS / ECU is breaking down (still intermittant).
Question is can the ECU be removed from the body of the ABS pump whilst they are insitu? This would at least allow use of the car whilst the ECU is sent to BBAs for refurb.
Anyone got any experience of this?
Anyone got a secondhand abs/ecu bosch ID 1273004206?

Yes it does.
There is a how to in the maintenance section ;)
You dont remove any brake pipes etc.....you just undo the 6 torx screws.

oro - sorry for hijacking your thread  :-[

Over the past few days I've noticed the said lights on dash coming on for a brief time  (on the 2.5), but everything still working as should.  No faults showing on ecu, am I assuming that the dreaded ecu is on it's way out.  What is it with the 2.5 abs ecu that seems to fail more regular than the 3.0 :question

Anyway all replies appreciated and keep up the good work guys :y
