Title: Multiple probs - crap with cars:((
Post by: arlee219 on 17 May 2009, 15:37:49
Hi all!
I'm new here, and really don't know where to start from.
First of all I'm running 2.2 Auto CD, X reg, LPG converted (Leonardo).
Couple a weeks ago I noticed a great increase in Gas consumption. It takes now about 35 ltrs to do a 100 miles (comparing to 20 ltrs before).

Besides, at the start, the enginge's choking and going dead. The only that helps is to switch to gas immediately after start. That unfortunately disables me from running on petrol. Spark plugs, oil filter and oil have been changed 10 months ago (not even 5 000 miles done from then), the car has a brand new battery, cambelt still got 20 000 to go.

I've heard a different stories bout Leonardo system (LPG) - in general being described as poor. Anyone any idea on that? If I wanted to change it for a new one, how can I make it happen, who's doin it and what's the cost? I live in B'ham (Selly Oak).

Also last year I spun on the rounabout and hit the wall. Had to change both tie rods, but didn't manage to get a new (second hand) front bumper and right head lamp. Where can I get them as chippest as possible from?

Sorry for all the problems I'm putting on you, but right now only one sentence rings in my head: "Help me OMEGA OWNERS FORUM. You're my only hope".

Cheers
Adrian

can't help you with the LPG problem but regarding the parts they should be easy enough to get hold of. There are a number of people on the forum that break cars. Have a look in the Parts for sale/wanted section and send them a PM or do a reply if the car being broken is the same type as yours. You might even be lucky and find a bumper the right colour!

Ade, where in Brum are you? I'm in Dudley if you fancy a trip over and I'll try and diagnose your petrol problem, not to hot on the LPG unless it's something obvious. Offers there if you need me :y

Thanks a lot guys for all the hints. I'll check general air flow (you know what I mean...:) ) once its not raining all the time.

And Wellung - thanks for ur offer. I live at Selly Oak (South) I'd be intersted in visiting you, but the earliest I could do that would be in 3 weeks time. I'll keep in touch with you anyway :)

And if I'm on the subject of ongoing probs I'm having - who's the best and cheapest in repairing keys? My keys are just worn to the bits, and inside is just as faulty.

Presumably the engine management lights on the dash come on with the ignition, and don't ever come on again whilst driving?

Is there a filter on the LPG gas side?

Does the evaporator need a service?

True, the engine light comes on and stays there all the time. My friend, who owned LPG conv. Omega sometime ago had exactly the same problem. He told me though, that apparently it is a normal thing... I've had that light turned on for over two years now:)

These are all good questions:) Haven't got any idea where to look for those things, but thanks to Chris I'll be able to get in touch with specialist (Teilo). Many thanks for giving me a hint where to start from :)
