Title: Engine knocking :(

Had a knock from the engine for a few weeks now, only used to happen when pulling away hard from standstill or a junction. it would clunk then start knocking, as of today its knocking all the time, sounds like a big end knock however if you have it in neutral and rev it, it doesnt knock ? its only when there is load on the engine i.e. accelerating  :-? :-?

Car is a 1999 MV6 auto, pre-face

Still could be a big end. They can only knock under load in the beginings of failure. :(

Bugger, anyone know a rough price on a set of big ends ? and how hard they are to change, only ever done a set on an old 2.0 pinto transit van  ;D
