Title: Rounded bastard bolt
Post by: Martin_1962 on 24 May 2009, 09:33:03
It is rounded, can I extract the head without removing it?

(So I can attack it properly when off)

dont know mate, but got round this once by hammering on a smaller socket, conventional hex in imp or metric or the proper torx depends how far gone it is....

Alternatively, if you have the space then get a pair of molegrips on it.

Depending on how rounded it is. I found a 10mm spanner works rather well.  :y

I had to use my angle grinder to whip off the head.
