Title: Where can I order an Opel Omega alternator?
Post by: Lotus Man on 01 June 2009, 23:48:37
Hello, is there a place in the USA where I can order a new alternator for the Opel Omega?  Specifically:

OMEGA - 3.0L (2962cc) - 2000-97 w/120A Bosch - AMPERAGE 120, REGULATOR I/R, VOLTAGE 12, ROTATION CW

I believe it's part number:

Bosch for Opel Omega, 14V, part #0986039 250-093

Thanks in advance for your assistance,
Will

PS If I can't order the part online in the USA, please advise how I can order the part online elsewhere.  Also, approximately how much would this part cost?

Given the current US/UK exchange rate, might be more worthwile arranging a cash deal direct from the UK to the US.

I'm at my local dealer for a parts uplift in about 10 hours time, if you want me to enquire....

Yes, that would be great, thanks!  I'd be curious to see how much a new OEM alternator would cost vs. a re-manufactured version.

Thanks again,
Will

Well an old listing that I have to hand shows the 120 amp alternator as £100 plus tax so about £130 if you guestimate inflation.  Will get a de facto price in the morning.  Its a fair weight.  I'll leave you to get a FedEx or whatever price....

Other option is to re-furb yourself.

The bearings are standard and the voltage reg/brush pack is a self contained unit costing about £15 and easy to change
