Title: no alarm siren when the alarm is set off

hi there ive had a problem with my alarm not working after i had my head gasket done i have got the horn below the wipers but it looks like there has been something taken off next to it(should it b the power sounder) and a loose wire the hazards still work when i set it off but no noise at all could anyone help with this please. its a 1998 mv6 sorry for going on abit :) :)

As they get old the 'powersounder' batteries no long hold there charge, so most people disconnect it, some remove it, a number replace it. However the alarm system/demoblizer still work, but quietly.

Not sure this is powersounder related and they are very expensive!! Possibly just the same as mine i.e the alarm horn is guffed due to age, I think they are around £15 from the stealers as opposed to £100+ for a powersounder.

No chance !!!  Invoice dated 25/4/09

Part no 9194455 Siren Unit price £57.50 + VAT

Trade price at my stealers using ABS TC  ... 52.33 +VAT = £60.18
