Title: cutting out

car intermittently cuts out under tickover, there is a fluc tuation in the revs it will drop from 500 down to 300 then pick up before eventualy cutting out. If you try and start car immediatly it fires up runs rough and then cuts out again. But if you leave for a minute or two it fires normaly and runs ok. I have changed idle control valve which hasnt cured it, my mechanic has mentioned air flow meter, and someone else fuel filter. Also my mechanic has mentioned servicing butterflies and throttle body housing. What else can we try? Also we have no engine management lights glowing or flashing.
