Is it possible to change a right hand drive rear view mirror over to a left hand version? Can you take it apart easily?

I've got a mirror in pieces in my garage, & I've just looked at it for you. Apart from the actuall dismantling of it - without breaking it ::) - there's a small rack driven by a pinion gear on the end of a motor for the electric to side movement. Mines at an angle to suit the RHD seating position and I can't really see a way of moving the end stops of the rack to suit a LHD car. I think it'd be easier for you to seach German eBay for a mirror that's already set up for LHD.  :y
