I've got a really strange problem.
Sometimes the engine management light comes on, and car looses power. Turn the car off and usually it goes right away (sometimes have to turn on and off twice) This never turned on when the engine was cold. Also there is another thing, when i start the engine sometimes the strange rattle appears for a brief second ( not always) and turning on the engine seems harder. The rattle has a sound like metal colliding for as brief second. It doesn't appear always. Got no codes yet cause it's 2.2 petrol. Anyone has any idea what can be the problem?
This started happening only after the car came from service ( cambelt kit, waterpump, headgasket, valves and sparks also) Do I have anything to worry about now?I'm going to get the codes read soon I hope

Also don't know if it is important but had the clutch done 3 months ago.
And if anybody knows how to check the oil in the gearbox will he be kind enough to give some advice.
Thanks in advance for any help

I thought about it Proz but the problem comes and goes every few days.
Need some advice here from experienced bunch to have an idea what could be the problem or how to track it to the source.
Someone mentioned in a previous post cam sensor, but I don't know will this explain the rattle sound

Well this happens only when the engine is warm and was reved up a little.
The service man said it is the egr valve probably
