Title: Please Help! Unlimited problems!
Post by: colin28 on 10 June 2009, 09:11:51
Can someone please help. I had the gearbox changed 4 months ago now and havent been able to drive my car since. When I got my car back I had unlimited fault codes. after going to several garages and autoelectricians this is whats happend. I have changed the coil bank 4 times, Spark plugs, camshaft sensor, ECU unit, and now yesturday Lambda sensor bank 1 sensor 1.

And NOW I have another more codes come up now!

0170 Fuel trim malfunction bank 1
0161 02 sensor heater circuit bank 2 sensor 2

Theses fault codes are new since I changed the lambda of bank 1 sensor 1.

What do these new fault codes mean and what do I need to do to get sorted!

Like I say the car has been useless for 4 months now.

Please help

 :-?

you need a tech II session and

you need an expert electrician ..

and imho stop changing parts one after another until you solve this problem..

i'm not expert mate but in my experience, if you've had some major work done ( gearbox change )and then the car starts to go tits up. I'd have a look around the area of the work  :y

maybe a trapped sensor wire or just a loose or  crossed over plug  :y

i normally find in stuff like this its something small and stupid  :y

good point :y

but if multiple "experts" mess up the scenario, many places to look for :-/

this sounds familiar, have you posted this before? Sounds like a direct result of the work done imho. Get them so sort it out. Go bang on his desk.

Failing that i would say you definately need a tech 2 session with one of the members on here. They are far more experienced than any dealer. Trouble is non of them live anywhere near you...

I'm sure this has been posted before (and very sorry you are still having trouble).

If you want a solution, you need to get this to an expert (Mark_DTM in Nottingham?)  If he is willing to help out perhaps the challenge would be how to get your car up to him?

It could be just possible that if i'm over in suffolk I may be able to trailer it up to him if we can work something out on the cost of trailer/transporter hire/& a bit of fuel.
