Hi all
Just hoping please to get a bit of advice if possible.....
Car is fine, drives lovely as normal, but I noticed during our recent holiday in Normandy that there is occasionally what I would describe as a "cracking" sound coming from the front drivers side wheel area??
Seems to be when going over speed bumps for example, although I may be imagining it but the steering doesnt feel as direct as it used to as well......??
Any advice greatly received as to exactly what it could be........
Cheers
Martyn

Make sure you look right up the top, mine has passed 2 MOT's with the rear spring broke ( of course it's fixed now ::) )

Dont get me wrong, I am perfectly able to take a wheel off, but at night I am at home with our 2 yr old asleep upstairs so cant really go out on the drive doing car work in case anything happens..........
Will have a look up the top of the spring tomrw

Would also suggest the anti roll bar drop links..... :y
-
while the wheel is off have a look at the wishbone joint by the bushes, esp. the bracket to sub frame. When the bushes wear the wishbone can drop in the bracket and rub said bracket when the suspension compresses.... I seem to remember anyway.

Agreed - swap these these first as also cheap (£15 the pair off ebay) and quick to swap :y

Theirs a pair of wishbones & droplinks advertised on ebay for around £60 delivered. Gonna do mine too as I have noises going over bumps etc. Was gonna do the bushes but not worth it as the wisbones have 2 x bushes + balljoint too all brand new.
Plus I hate >:( getting bushes out!!!!
