Title: Wishbones
Post by: Dave Elite on 12 June 2009, 19:31:22
Hello, I fitted new wishbones a few weeks ago, and I put the bolts back the same as I took them off. But after reading a few threads on the subject I think the vertical bolts may be upside down. I have mine with the nut on the top. Can anyone tell me which way up the go? Thanks Dave

Bolt drops down from the top with the nut beneath :y

Always bolt from the top on suspension parts on all cars. It's only logical: in case the nut happens to get loose and drops off the bolt remains in place and you still have your wishbone / any other suspension part attached to your car.

However, it does not make any difference other than that.

I beleive it can be an MOT failure :-/

Horizontal bolt with nut to rear. Well, that's the way I refit them.
Never actually noticed how they were originally  ::)
