Hi all
With new baby due in the next week or so I decided to find out how to turn off the passenger airbag. I spoke to Vauxhall who advised that this cannot be turned off, something I find a bit strange.
Does anyone know of any ways round this that won't cause problems with the MOT/dash lights?
Thanks
Olly

Markjay's golden rule is that under-fourteens should never occupy the front seat of a moving vehicle regardless of belt/airbag/crash-helmet etc!
As for baby's when put in a the front seat they are also distraction to their mother parent-person* who WILL try to change the nappy while negotiating a B-road...

there was an option for airbag to automatically disable when a special coded baby seat was fitted, but this was rarely taken up.
So, your dealer is correct.

some later cars can take a special vauxhall child seat with a transponder in it.
Other than that its replace airbag with a resistor :'(

Me personally would never play with any safety features on a car. :o
