I have the opportunity of buying a 1999 2.5CDX (same colour) with light frontal damage. £450 :y
My question is what fit's a 2002 model, I am only interested in the seats (leather) and other trim type items.
The owner is not sure if it is a face lift or not (it could be)
I could always sell it on after trim update or break it? :-/

if its a facelift then everything should be a straight swap......
if not then door trims and centre consoles are different for starters

it will be prefacelift.

not necessarily, theres a few 99 facelifts and theres a few pre facelifts 2000 :-?

Usually, if they don't clearly state 'facelift' though, it is likely to be prefacelift. Facelift CDX's with leather are also VERY rare. Not sure why though :-? That's still a little too cheap to be a facelift.
Goooo on, surprise us all! :y

Sorry, misread, thought he said a 1999 model. All 1999 models are prefacelift, all facelifts are MY2000 or later.

the confusion is the reg year and model year
some facelifts were 1999V registered but many would have been 2000V, model year always known as "MY2000 on" (or 99-03 even though some registered early 04)
prefacelifts/mini facelifts went from L reg to W reg (known as 94-00)
