How important is renewing the fuel filter as part of servicing.
since having my Mig, have done:-
Cam cover gaskets, Cam Belt, Plugs and leads. Air filter. Oil & filter change (twice) o/s cat. converter. Brake discs and pads all round.
Used the Mig last weekend. Loads of power and lovely V6 roar.
On the way home, had the hairy exhaust, pony tail from exhaust. Got bit sluggish and chuggish under load. Still cruised nice at 70 though. Read on OOF when got back, that back box is knackered and affects performance.
New back box on today, bit better, but still sluggish and chuggish. Good cruise at 70 though.
Cam covers checked. Plugs OK. No oil in plug wells. Tickover RPM about 550. temp guage 93ish. Paper clip test - no faults showing.
'cos I didn't replace fuel filterwhen did service, have I cocked up. Would new fuel filter help. Thanks for any advice and help.

Not sure its causing your issue, which seems to have started with the exhaust failing, but it should be changed on schedule (2yrs). Leaving longer will cause fuelling issues, and has its only around £6, plus 50p for the clips.......

Thanks TB. I'm a plonker. For that amount of money, should have just done it. Thanks again

Clips? What kind of clips is that? Is it for fixing filter to chassis, or is it clips for fuel connection?
Reason I ask is that I am about to change on my own car, and I only purchased filter alone no clips...

Clips for fuel line connections mate :y
Do they need to be renewed at every filter change?

Be careful tho i did mine today and ended up snaping the plasic connector that goes from the fuel filter to the fuel line
Oh yeah and the clips from vauxhall are only 76p add vat :y

Clips are Vx only, you may not snap the old ones, I got away with it but only Pennies so you may as well have a couple in ready. :y

Fuel Filter I got from Europarts had retaining clips on it. The plastic strap which keeps the filter secure and tidy was oK.
Used 8" long nose pliers. Bit fiddly, took about 30 mins. Suggest wear eye goggles and face mask. Now going for an interview as a fire eater. :y
