Title: MV6 Wont take full throttle+ idling high
Post by: Omega6pot on 21 June 2009, 12:56:47
Hi, my MV6 has recently decided to not accept full throttle and is idling quite high (1100 RPM). the car drives fine until full throttle when it drops all power and makes a loud induction noise, if full throttle isnt released, the revs drop until it stalls, any ideas anyone?
cheers AL

Sounds like a vacum leak. Can cause high idling and could stall at high revs if the MAF isn't reading all the air going into the engine

ive taken the inlet off and clean all gaskets and checked the pipes going in, eveything seems good, it had a fault code about a knock sensor but when i cleared it the code didnt reappear yet the symptoms continue

did it just start this while driving or when you first started up?

done it since the head gaskets where done, i think i have found the problem, think the knock sensor wires have been allowed to touch the manifold and so are a little burnt, hoping that sorting the wiring will have it sussed
