Before I start, is this an easy job or are there bits to take out to make it easier?
Looking to upgrade the mainbeam to some super white/blue to compliment the Xenons and to get some white / blue sidelights too.
Any suggestions / comments from those who have found out the hard way would be appreciated.
(incase this seems an odd question, the Mk4 golf needs to have the front bumper taken off and the battery removed to change the sidelight, that is why I ask!)

Managed to do all mine without removing anything (except of course the xenon holder - 3 x torx bolts)
Easier if you take air filter box out (drivers side) and battery (near side), or just loosen battery clamp and ease battery back.
Allow time for voltage to "dissipate" before working on Xenons!!
Blue side lamp bulbs are an MOT fail!!

The colour when you simply look at them is immaterial, it's the displayed colour that matters for the MOT (as yours are white, no problem)

Spot on mate - I had some "white" LED side light bulbs in which were bluish when lit. 2 yrs ago mot guy said he would fail it on this but gave me 5 minutes to change them while he had a coffee. Fitted standard white ones and got the pass!!
