Any idea where in Brum I can do it? Is it something that every garage can do, or should I be carefull whit it?

Its quite a specialist job, so if a garage took it on they would almst certainly pass the work on to a local engineering shop.

And that's the problem.
How do I know if the engineering shop's good or not? I took my car to few of those so called "technicians", and to be honest with you I got fed up with the level of bull**** they've been trying to sell me each time. It's only thanks to the people like you guys I keep the faith...
Otherwise I'd buy myself a bike and a big umbrella :)))
The thing is though, that I really love my Omega...

Dont really know the engine code for the 2.2 in the mig,but if its a z22se,your not really supposed to skim these heads according to the haynes book for some reason or the other. :y

Lee... do you remember what was the engine code? Car's original book says, that this is Z22XE.
The other 2.2 option would be DTH, which I trust is a Diesel engine.

And can anyone actually say something more about why the head shouldn't be skimmed?
