So, my new purchase will shortly need a replacement exhaust. I have identifies that there is the blueflame option, and the custom built Powerflow outlets and Janspeed but what else is there in stainless steel?
Idealy I would like a twin 70x90mm oval or twin back-slash of about 70/72mm.
If I went the Powerflow route the idea of a second backbox on the off-side is appealing. I have not heard of anybody using Powerflow and I do not want to be loud - would rather get power gains. The std unit is decently fruity sounding, but I understand that the oem units are not the same quality as would have been fitted in the first place now so that is deffo not an option.
Any comments / thoughts / experiences / pics / links welcome.

Bump!!
I am stalling at the Jetex option!
Phoned Blueflame today and was told that they are currently not doing custom builds until further notice so that option is out the window!
Bastuk is only a single pipe.
OEM is aparently shoot and expensive.
The only other option I can see is Longlife or powerflow, both of which are a bit dependent on which outlet you go to aparently.
Getting desperate as I will need it done by mid July.

I went Longlife and am very happy with it. :y

Mmm, jkust had a closer look and the back box is just about to fall off!
Just behind the rear box joint!

And the rest of it doesnt look god either!
Tailpipe - can bend it a bit!

for god sake dont hit a pot hole or speed hump to fast you will loose it

not usin it at the moment, can let it sit till solution comes!

standard place all omega exhausts go.
Don't think you'll get performance gains from custom. You could decat 2.5/3.0 (not sure about mot), but the restrictions is the poor manifold. 2.6/3.2 appears to have a better manifold, but due to extra sensors, limit any decatting opportunities.

Yeah - couldnt see how doin a 1-off by guesswork would yield anything.
So, options seem to be:
1) Jettex
2) Bastuck (but it combines the pipes after the cats >:()
3) The non-performance mild steel version that folks are recommending on OOF.

I think the likes of Jettex and Janspeed are a bit like Courtnay Engineering, and probably best to look at other options unless you own a Corsa ::)

Been there done it with other cars with the jettex and it works (possibly like Courtenay ;D), then it comes back to the hole crux of this thread - THERE ARE NO OTHER OPTIONS really worth considering that I am aware of. The std oem is aparently shoot, Remus only do a back box so I still have to find the centre sections and everything else seems a retrograde step. Is there REALLY nothing else available?

There are a few that do custom, that is probably the way to go.
I'm in similar dilema - mine will be due a new exhaust in next 12months I imagine, currently on its 2nd genuien GM one.

I REALLY can't make up my mind about the custom option. I would, I feel, have been happy with Blueflame but they are not doing them currently. The others I just feel you will be getting pot luck, maybe good maybe bad, possibly losing power which I am NOT prepared to do. I thonk I would tolorate a little 'chavishness' for the sake of getting a production run & tested item such as the Jetex.
Point to note, I enquired with Jetex about multiple putchases as I will soon need something for my Golf and they would do 10% discount. Has anybody ever thought about getting a group buy going on things such as this? Maybe could get a Jetex down to £400 if we could get, say, 10 orders together? Dunno... Maybe Blueflame or Milteck would consider a small run for a certain quantity ordered?
My ideal would be twin 76mm backslash with no in or out roll, basically mimicking the 3.0 / 3.2 tailpipe (and Vectra B GSi), but just a little something special, not quite so in yer face as the 80mm Jetex straight cut rolled.

I always thought my Jetex was fairly subtle! I've sung its praises a few times on here now but I love the way it looks and bearing in mind mine's an auto, it sounds nice and deep without droning. Edit: a fella on Autobahnstormers organised a Jetex group buy for the Carlton/Senator a while back and that went down really well.

I've just been to topgear in Stockport (longlife exgausts) today and ordered my stainless from cat back for my 2002 3.2 elite, what sold it to me was the service given when I was just enquiring. Got a twin square pipe too. Can't wait.

:o
German take on 'style' - Mantzel and Steinmetz stylee. I suppose it is of the original Omega era but not really UK taset imho.
The Jetex is not TOO OTT, but I kinda think that it would look out of place on an otherwise std facelift 2.6 CDX - going the Eternal route. If the CDX ever gets a makeover then it is not too much wedge to have parted with (£150ish fitted!).
