Title: Not quite an Omega question but....
Post by: Waglet on 23 June 2009, 14:04:00
Daughter has an Opel/Vauxhall Corsa. (Gotta start somewhere). Up until yesterday all was well. However she rings me and says, “Can’t get into the car”. Turns out to be the battery in the alarm fob (after market). All now well. However (again) the key provided when we purchased the car only operates the ignition! I suspect a new barrel and key has been put in and door key lost or similar. Sorry to go on but can you get a key for the doors from Vauxhall using chassis number etc?  Cheers.

I would have thought you can get one cut any where that does them providing you take id and proof of ownership. :D

you can order keys for your car based on the key number on your car pass.

the problem you have is which is the original locks, the doors, or the ignition.

Your other option would be to get a set of locks, keys, and immobiliser of a breaker and change the lot

I like your thinking Jim Bob. . . A bit of a dilema! I never thought that the ignition could be the original.....just assumed..... and we all know assumption is the Mother of all *&$£ ups! Best check the paperwork for the "pass"
