Hello again ,well i have been bitten by the omega bug , my future sun in law said he would like an omega , and so he bought mine [without tax and test ] and i have bought another one with tax and test, The problem lies with the identity of the engine , it was advertised as a 3.0 elite, but ,when i lifted the bonnet ,the plenum chamber is smaller than the one on the other 3.0 engine , the one with the smaller plenum is an N reg , i just wonder if someone has put in a 2.5 or 2.6 engine, or were the older models made with the smaller plenum chamber,it dose have a full and current service history to 83k , the car is showing 90k at the moment . If it is a 2.5 or 2.6 what type of power diference will it be and also what about the fuel consumption, any help will be well recieved --thanks JK

It wont be a 2.6 as that is DBW and coil packs.
It will be a 3.0 as the early ones had a short plenum, only the later ones had a long plenum fitted ;)

thanks for that , i feel a lot better with that answer--JK

Yes, 3.0 Plenum can be large or small. Wouldnt worry.

Presumably you had a newer car before as the longer plenum came in for the 3.0 late 97 with the introduction of the mini facelift versions...
You can put a longer plenum on your older 3.0 if you want :y

i might just do that thanks again--JK

Is there any power difference in the different size plenum chamber,or, would i gain anything by changing it ,thanks JK

Same power, 'snooped' or long plenum gave 3's better air intake.
The 2.6's actually did not need the extended plenum but had to cause of DBW system

as tunnie says... think its slightly better torque or something on the longer plenums
