Title: 2.5td injection pump timing
Post by: Turk on 24 June 2009, 23:24:59
I've change my injection pump, but I suspect I need to adjust the pump timing now as it's running lumpy across the range. Hunting and missing. Exhaust note almost sounds like a burbling "V" motor at the moment.

Anyone know how the pump timing is adjusted. I suspect it's a case of loosening the securing bolts and tilting the pump until it runs right.
Is this correct or am I way off ?
I think/hope it's possible to access the bolts without removing the inlet manifold. I don't fancy all that work over and over again until it's right.

I was always under the impression that it was quite a specialised job - but I don't know what exactly it involves.

There must be a method behind it though - hopefully someone will know.
