Title: How long do fault codes stay?

I know I have asked this before but how long are fault codes stored or do they clear as soon as the fault is fixed?  :-/

With mine in the past they have cleared as soon as the problem has been sorted, but I have noted on the forum that sometimes you do need Tech2 to clear them. ;)

Tech 2 specifically or will another code reader do the job?  :y

It varies with the engine and the specific code.

Any decent, compatible code reader should be able to clear
