I have removed all the SAI pipework and have blocked off the two pipes that go in to the exhaust manifold. I have also blocked up the pipe that comes out of the solenoid valve (assume this is correct).
I have unplugged the SAI pump under front wing. However I still have fault code 46. Also, the car now seems to hesitate if I try to put my foot down.
Any ideas please?

sigh. did you leave the solenoid in place?

thought it was just a case of unpluging it? Obviously not?

As far as I remember as I did it on Mrs. Loo-knee's Elite was remove the SAI Pipe which is a silvery coloured pipe that runs horizontally from a rubber pipe down by the Air con pump to a rubber pipe underneath the water pipe next to the aux belt tensioner pulley, these are the rubber pipes that need blocking up. There is also the part of this SAI pipe that goes Vertical with a pipe almost in a U shape that ges to a solenoid, just remove that pipe leaving the solenoid.
Then unplug the SAI Pump under the wheel arch in front of the passenger side tyre.
That as I remember should be it. :y

ANY SAI fault code is due to solenoid. No ifs or buts.

Appreciate that TB and have taken on board all the prior info given regarding this.
I have done everything that Daz (Loo Knee) has described above apart from removing the pipe on the solenoid. I have simply blocked this up.
The solenoid is still there and is plugged in. Are you saying that I should replace the solenoid? :(

Could it be conned into thinking the solenoid was still in place and functional with a resistance or would it need to see impedance as well?

A simple resistance would almost certainly fool the ECU into thinking it has an intact circuit. Must be something up with the solenoid / wiring in this case.

I was thinking that your SAI solenoid was faulty and as you have removed the rest of the system it would be easier to fool the ECU into thinking it was still there with a resistor rather than replace the solenoid just to remove the fault code and extinguish the EML.

I was thinking that your SAI solenoid was faulty and as you have removed the rest of the system it would be easier to fool the ECU into thinking it was still there with a resistor rather than replace the solenoid just to remove the fault code and extinguish the EML.
So is this not the case then? Sorry but I am a bit of a dunce with this stuff? :-/
