Post by: V6drift on 10 July 2009, 20:17:42

not hard for either, facelift (well drive by wire) much easier, but likely needs tech2

guides to do both in the maint section  :y

sorry, forgot to mention ive not bought a mig yet  :-[

my old 99 cdx had cruise and i liked it lots, seems quite hard to find another now with it fitted as standard :-?
the facelift cruise conversion looks the better option IMHO  ;)

ive been looking at an x-reg ex-police MV6 estate auto although it needs a bit of work  ::)

 ......

The way the cruise is fitted is dependant on whether it's a drive-by-wire throttle ie 2.2 2.6 or 3.2 and not whether it's facelift!  ;)  ;)  ;)

Still need to know the exact engine, as that changes what you need to do for cruise a lot!

That said 99 plod means 3.0, so you need all the cruise gubbans under the bonnet.

3.2's only need stalk and tech2

Road tax only affects post march 2006 cars, not 2001 as first proposed.

if its manual, you will need a clutch switch as well

the switches are easy to brake removing them, budget £15 ish each if you need to buy em new.

For 2.5 Tubby Denzil owners, replace standard stalk with cruise stalk (about 10 mins) and that's it, job done. Already enabled.  :y

Yup, 2.5TDs pre-enabled (but they take a unique stalk).

2.2 (petrol and diesel), 2.6, 3.2 need a chit chat with tech2. 2.0 petrol and 2.5/3.0 need all gubbins under bonnet installed
