Hello Everyone
I'm suffering a long time with a intermittent misfire that comes and goes.
This time I was clening the oil breather (blocked again) and I the engine started fail.
Months ago I did the cam cover gasket, replaced spark plugs and cleaned throttle body.
Today I checked the codes (P0301, P0304, P1781) cleared all and take out the spark plugs to check. Got now P0301 only.
From now I lost my ideas. Where ??
Change the coil pack ? Change the spark plugs again ?
Thanks for any advice
-
i guess a you have choice. The rubber insulators/boots are available seperate to the coil pack on the 4pot afaik. But if you buy a coil pack you get new insulators anyway. I guess examine the boots for splits and perishing rubber and coil pack for cracks or any other damage and see what you need. :-)
Plus theres always the breakers on here of course. They may have a 4pot coil pac kicking about?

Hello everyone. Just a update in my problem.
My car is running with 3 cylinders, code P0302.
After erase the code and start work on the injector I can get 6000 rpm without fail.
As soon I select P/D/R the car start to fail and I get code P0302.
I ´m waiting a coil pack to change.
Could be any sensor ??? Or Autobox ?
Thanks for any help.
Regards

Is this a 2.2 petrol?
As those codes are not relevant to that unit
-
Yes, 2.2 Petrol.
Initially I got P0301/P0304. I swap the spark plugs and P0302 since then (last week).
-
I'm without luck.
Spark plugs changed this morning, codes cleared and!!
Same problem.
Engine failing, Code P0302.

Sounds similar to the problems we had with SWMBO's Astra G 1600 16v. The fault cleared with new plugs ... for about fortnight. A new coil pack put the light out for a couple of days. I sucked some injector cleaner in to the manifold via vacuum line & put the rest into the tank. She's not too sure when the EML went out :-? but it's not been on again since. :y :y :y

The failing started after I cleaned the pipe breather which was almost blocked.
Now I have some oil leaking (on the base of the pipe).
Could blocked pipe or pressure cause it ?
-
Are you sure the breather pipes are put back on firmly and have not split where they fit on?? A slight air leak could cause engine misfire
-
Probably it is the problem. Today I need solve or at least have a good idea what is happening.
Today I´m changing the oil, fix this leaking, clean pipes, etc.
Thansk for the help

Finally car running smooth.
After make the maintenance:
- oil change (today)
- air element changed (today)
- Throttle body cleaning (today)
- Oil Hose / Breather pipe cleaning (today)
- Fix the oil leak in the breather pipe (I install the gasket in the wrong position - today)
- Change petrol filter (last week)
- Coil Pack / Spark plugs (this week / saturday)
After all I got the same engine failing and code P0302.
Them I cleaned the EGR Valve, install the coil pack back and I found one of the rubber cracked leaking High Voltage.
Also found the yellow oil cap must be replaced
Everything is OK now. After 6 months tring to fix.
Now need install new batteries in the power sound and put back.
I will put pictures of this rubber.
Thanks for all help and suggestions.
