Title: tyre size
Post by: JK on 12 July 2009, 17:14:47
I am after a bit of advice about tyre size for my omega elite 3.0 .The tyres that are on are the standard size,and are all due to be replaced, i do have in my garage 4 brand new tyres that i have had for some time ,i bought them for my peugeot 307 sw, but they are not exactly the same so i was wondering if i would be able to fit them on my omega ,the tyre sizes are 205/60/16 many thanks JK

15 inch wheels take 195 - 205-65-15's

16 inch wheels take 205 / 215/ 225- 55-16's

if you go to 60's i'm pretty sure it will screw up your speedo  :'(

205 = tyre width (mm)
60 = profile of tyre wall based on % of tyre width

60% of 205 = 123

if its ok to fit 225/55's (123.75) then 205/60's would be fine as the diameter / circumference is virtually the same.

This is as long as 215/55's are ok as said above!

hope this helps a little...  :-/

I don't under stand where the 215s come in but i do understand that the 205 diameter is 0.75 larger, so it would be ok to fit 205/60 ,instead of 225/55 ,both are obviously 16 inch --JK
