Title: Omega 2.2 lumpy idle, EML light.
Post by: Del Boy on 12 July 2009, 21:53:02
Got an Omega coming later this week (Thanks Andy  :y), now it's a 52 plate 2.2, it has a lumpy idle and the EML is on, could this be an ICV not lumpy when driving any idea's  :-?

You need the codes read really, could be numerous reasons behind it....

MAF fault, Pre-cats causing 0170, Cam sensor.... take your pick. So get the codes read, cleared and re-read with it running hot on tickover for about 20 minutes. That'll be your best indication of any problems :y

You might get lucky - my 2.2 is drive by wire, so pedal trick works.

Quite right Del, pedal trick doesn't work on any of the 2.2 varients (petrol or diesel). If you were closer I'd have read and cleared them for nothing like I do anyone that can get to me :y

Sorry boys, but you are wrong. The pedal trick works on my 2.2. I think it works on any petrol drive by wire.

PM Sent, anyway whats  the problem with this car how would I got about getting the codes read suppose I'd have to pay?  ;D

Do you go anywhere near Sittingbourne as I bought a code reader/resetter for my 2.2.

I've never tried the pedal trick as I was led to believe that it didn't work on 2.2's.

Sorry for starting the little debate about the pedal trick. I was only suggesting that you might be lucky and have one that it does work on. The reason I know that it works on some is that I have actually done it on mine when I had the EML on.
