Hi again, another day another problem, engine management light came on today and fault codes read were 0420 and 0430, can anyone tell me what they mean and how I can get them sorted.
Thanks for now.

0420 and 0430 Cat efficiency on each bank. This is a sign your pre-cats are starting to fail, you can either take out a 2nd mortgage for a new pair, get some 2nd hand ones but that's a gamble or get someone to move the lambda's back behind the main cats :y

I really wouldn't worry about it - it will not fail an MOT or affect performance in any way. The light is annoying but harmless! The best solution, as previously stated, is to get a nice stainless system made up and move the sensors behind the main cats which is what l intend to do :y

Common fault on the 3.2 ... had this twice in a year.. it's why I bought the code reader / resetter.
IME a good blast seems to clean them up and the problem doesn't come back, just wonder if the pre-cats occaionally need to get really worked hard to regain some sort of efficiency. On the 2 occasions I had the problem it was after a lot of short journeys. Once the caravan season restarts and I do a decent amount of towing - which works the system hard - the problem doesn't seem to recur.
Probably a load of rubbish/coincidence .. but just my views .. :)
If you stick your location in your profile you might be near someone with a code reader/resetter.... ?? :)

Car had been sitting in storage for some time also when I disconnect the battery for a few minutes the light goes off and doesn't come on again for a couple of days ie about 100 miles or so.
