Title: Intake air temp sensor. Faulty
Post by: footloose on 13 July 2009, 15:13:46
I have had a problem with misfireing and when i disconnected the iats the car ran perfectly but the engine light came on. I checked the code as per the paperclip and got a 73. air flow sensor. Confusing. Any way i have been driving short distances with the iats disconnected while waiting for a new iacs and a air flow sensor to arrive.
Am i likely to do damage while driving with the sensor disconnecte and the engine light on.
Any advice welcome. [smiley=huh.gif]

shouldn't really do any damage, though car won't run particularly well, as it will be in limp. Limp is really designed just to 'get you home' so hopefully new parts won't take long

It may light up the eml if you do a couple of miles. I got a code 73 wich is odd but nonetheless when i changed the air intake temp sensor all was well  :)
