Is this normal for a 2.2 auto omega petrol.
gear changes are fine when accelerator pedal not kickdown or held down (however sometimes can be sluggish).
However when i kickdown it changes down gear and holds it until around 5000rpm and then stops there it will not change up without releasing pedal.
In addition a quick kickdown to overtake does the same and causes the car to jerk as it seems to be limited via the revs??
the oil level in gearbox is fine.
Any ideas???
throttle sensor, Gearbox ECU???

Is the engine management light on?
Sounds like its some kind of engine limp as it won't rev up to revline.

Certainly sounds like you need a code read....
you can try the pedal trick for starters, but may or may not work.
