Title: Alarm problems upsetting neighbour
Post by: Kieran on 21 July 2009, 12:33:06
Hello everyone
My alarm keeps going off randomly and i have to unlock and lock the doors to make it stop. Got so bad last night that i left the car unlocked so as not to upsett the neighbours. Any advice please :y
Cheers

try unpluggin the bonnet switch - small plunger

you can lock the doors using the door buttons to avoid setting the alarm, obviously leaving via passenger door though  :y

Will have a look tonight and clean up the contacts. Also been mentioned it could be the alarm battery  :o

yes, could be powersounder (and its batteries) you can just unplug either of these and the alarm will perform without them.

Do 1 at a time to work out which it is  :y

bonnet sensor very easy to unplug, if it is that you can bend it upwardws to make better contact, or just leave it off  :y

My vote is for the power sounder. Just behind the driver's side front suspension turret under the plastic scuttle cover. Pull the plug on it (it might protest for a few minutes) then all will be well.

Batteries can be replaced if it's not too far gone, or just leave it disconnected.
