hi folks need a backing plate for the osr brakes any ideas how much this is going 2 sting me also does it have 2 come from vauxhall.also hear everone going on about a trade card is this for money off vauxhall parts any info would be great :)

I would create a wanted add in the test section for the back plate, a breaker is bound to have one, and an admin will likely move it for you.

You can get a trade card by joining a car club like autobahnstormers, who let you have one as part of the £20 a year fee.
or you can try and blag one for free at your dealer by pretending to be trade.

is this because the shoe retaining pins ripped out?, mine had done the same so i put the pin through & made a plate to sit over the hole from the rear to get me out of trouble [speed nut is ideal], i done this as my MOT was re-booked for that day for failing on handbrake.

i done mine without removal albeit a fiddly affair, poke a small screwdriver through & youll see where it comes out, get your adapted speednut & hold it in place with long nose pliers while you put the retaining pin through, when ive got a bit more time i might have a go tack welding in a plate on the inside as its got to be easier & cheaper than stripping everything off :y

people call them allsorts of names, its those sprung steel square plates that are used for self tappers, i suppose you could always lob the pin away & get a long bolt with a nyloc nut & washer to go on the back, just dont do it up too tight :y
