Title: Water temp is going quite high

[size=10]Hi guys,
I noticed that when driving with the a/c on (not ECO) that my water temp goes up to 100 degree!  :o
Liquid has been renewed while having a new water pump and cambelt fitted, level is perfect, coolant is enough there. I noticed that there is an additional electrical water pump straight behind the top of the radiator. Could that be gone?
Can I test that pump while simply fitting two cables to the socket and to the battery?
The fan itself is working and starts correct and even runs after switching off the engine (when too hot).

Uh, i think there's only one water pump on the mig ... i have been having the same problem as you. I got it cured by having the rad thoroughly flushed (5 times). You would not imagine the amount of gunk that came out. Now, the car's running at a quite nice temperature (between 89 - 97 C). There's no harm in trying to flush it and check it that works for you. There already is a how to on the flushing process in the maintenance guide i believe ... try it out!  :y

The pump up near the radiator is an aux water pump to circulate water in the system for a few seconds after the ignition has been switched off, this helps to prevent hot spots in the cooling system. You might need to remove the radiator and back flush the rad and also to check that the cooling fins are not execessivly blocked with crap and dead bugs, just done this to a v6 veccy and the rad surface was 90% blocked with crud. It now runs about 10 dges cooler.

Remove radiator, place on ground (not lawn) fill with "fernox" cleaner/descaler, leave for 24 hours, flush thoroughly, refit ...   :y :y :y :y

As the cooling water is absolutely clean as it was before I think I will start with the lazy check first and clean the fins with pressured air from the inside.

I usually fill the cooling system with proper radiator liquid and top up with de-ionized water to avoid limescale. But the previous owners/workshops might not have bothered......  :(
