No, the ecu DIAGNOSTICS, and the symptoms are lying. The dealer says it must be the ECU, and they are clever people....

Agreed Jaime  ;D

Tho i now think it needs a new gearbox ecu , so think i'll suggest they change that next as they love changing ecu's  :D

One thing I discovered this afternoon......when in limp mode....you carnt go faster than 85mph!!  >:(
I noticed that doing 55mph the gearbox was still in 3rd......so I turned off onto a private runway  ;) to see if it would change up to 4th.......nope it doesnt.....when it hit 4500rpm (rev limit) (85mph in a 2.2's case) thats as fast as your gonna go!!

I think thats outrageous 'limp mode home' mode and you carnt go faster than 85mph  ::)

You should do what i done when i had my Veccy, after 6 attempts to fix it.

I had a brand new Volvo courtesy car off them, 12 miles on the clock. So i held the Volvo to ransom.

Made it quite clear to the Service manager that it wouldn't be returned until it was fixed proper, and not by them, by another dealership, and hey presto, they sent the Veccy out to another dealership and it got fixed.  ;)

Volvo courtesy car from a vx dealer!!?? They trying to say we dont supply vx cars as courtesy cars as they break down too often  ;D

Trouble is i dont bother with asking for a courtesy car as you usually have to wait weeks until they have one available.

So they know best cure is to clear the codes, and "No fault found, sir"

Yep, it was one of them dual dealerships. I reckoned it was Volvo mechanics working on my car, hence my insistence on it going to a different dealership.  ::)
