Title: Whirring Noise from Rear Of 3.2 Estate auto
Post by: fadgeboy on 25 July 2009, 21:30:49
Getting a whirring sound from rear of my estate 3.2 (sounds just like an propellor airplane at take off) when I go over 40mph.  Slip her into neutral and sound continues. Any considerations would be helpful. Thanks.
PS ( Is there a simple test for wheel bearings).

Could be wheel bearings but I would also check the Diff for oil

Defo sounds like gone wheel bearings. Am not sure about how to test them in a simple way, but more knowledgeable members on here may be able to help you out
