Title: part number for crank sensor
Post by: Bumbazor on 29 July 2009, 20:57:06
I've been a bit quiet recently but now find the need for help once again. I need the part number for a crank sensor for my 2.5 V6.

My symptoms are non- or very laboured starting; followed by immediate starting if I then turn off and try again straight after.

I also have code 19.

So I reckon the crank sensor is a good place to start but first I need the correct part number for my engine.

There's a few options... Best bet is to check it yourself :y :y

Looking at the vauxhall book online reads:

2.5 (early models)                                        90492006        £79.00        £71.10        £61.60

2.5 (later models)                                       90492061       £57.50       £51.76       £44.76

Based on my experience with crank sensors, take the old one out first and compare it with the new one before fitting it!

Oh, sorry I've no idea how to determine if yours is a early or later model but I'm sure someone on here will!

Also, I don't know if code 19 is definitely a crank sensor or not, but thought the part no info would be useful!  ::)

Bumbazor, your car is the same year as mine and I'm pretty sure its the second one listed (rounded plug) and yes, code 19 will almost certainly be the crank sensor.

Most likely rounded plug type - part nş 90492061  - the one with the black plastic part engine end.
