Title: Driver's side door 'creaking'
Post by: sneakypenguin on 30 July 2009, 16:14:20
Afternoon everyone, my drivers side door has been creaking for the last week so went to vx and got a replacement bush. changed it over and to be honest the old one was in pretty good shape, but changed it anyway and put plenty of grease on it. This hasn't cured the creaking problem.

Upon closer inspection I've found this, sorry for the poor quality (http://i1010.photobucket.com/albums/af228/sneakypenguin_01/driversside.jpg) It seems the housing where the strap goes into has either broken or become dislodged compared to the passenger side (http://i1010.photobucket.com/albums/af228/sneakypenguin_01/passengerside.jpg) Any ideas on what I can do?

thanks

I had the same, and when it is as bad as that it is about to break off completely!! :o :o

Don't worry though, as it just means your drivers door freely closes by itself, although it will not stay 'ajar'!! :D :D :y

I have got well used to it now and rather like the self closing facility!! :D :D :D ;) ;)

Just remember to keep a firm hold when opening/closing on a windy day.
Nothing to stop the door creasing against the rear edge of the wing.
