Title: Key gubbins / codes etc
Post by: Spearmint on 31 July 2009, 16:03:27
Right then, the push buttons on the key are FUBAR'd so I thought I would take it apart to see if I could swap the chipset over to another and I found that the chipset was damaged too.

The previous owner (God only knows what the pillock was thinking!) must have had it apart before now and has used gaffa tape on the inside to hold the little switches onto the board.

So now the key won't work full stop.

Phoned Vauxhall up which I really loath doing as you may as well drop your trousers and ask them to go in dry whereby they quoted me....

£34 inc VAT for the internals.
£23 inc VAT for the Programming

He then said that as I don't have the security code there would be a further charge to acquire this code!

Honest to god what a bunch of robbing pricks!

So I don't suppose there is a cheaper way of doing this is there?

Thanks in advance.
