My MV6 has vented rear discs and they need replacing.
Can I do a straight swap with new solid 286mm discs?
Cheers

iirc someone did that to Mike Dundee's
All was fine tis his pads fell out, pushed the pistons out, and lost all his brake fluid!
the calipers are wide enough to take the big disks....so put small in, and you have problems..
so I wouldnt :y

Not without changing the calipers to.

Right-oh, thought I'd better check! ::)
Thanks guys. :y

Can anyone recommend where to pick some up at a reasonable cost?
The lowest price I've found so far is for EBC ones at £69.99 for just the discs, that's more than I paid for the front discs AND pads!

Vaux aint cheap...
Ventilated discs/drums from '01 93182287 £127.00 £108.29 £84.55
All models disc pads 93169001 £19.65 £16.70 £11.59
handbrake shoes:
All models brake shoes 90541931 £67.50 £57.43 £40.98
which are much cheaper in Halfords, if I was doing them, would probably do disks, pads & shoes :'(

Yeah, I foundthe same prices too. When I started this exercise this morning I was expecting NOT to have to pay more than the fronts! >:(
I only found EBC and Mintex do them also, and following a call to Mintex, they put me onto a supplier in Birmingham who will do them for £66 (pair of rear vented discs) and £12 for pads, so not too bad.
I rarely use the handbrake, so the shoes can stay, whatever their condition.
Cheers :y

How bad can your rear discs be to need changing? My 99 Omega is still on it's originals after 156000 miles ;)
