Title: Removing the window switch block (door)

Trying to reseat a door card - as it's not held in fully at the top (lock end).

Found all the screws so far, should be one hiding behind the block with the elec window switch.  This block won't release for me.  I've got too tough with it now and broken or pulled the switch back off.  Still the block remains.  How do you do yours? 

Need to get in twice now.  One to release the door card to re-hang and now to repair/replace the switch!

This block will eventually lift about 2" or so but no further - just see the front metal retaining clips.

Yes, this is a facelift.

The block doesn't come up far (even after I've 'encouraged' it).

Anyone done a F/L ?  I've missed something here even after re-reading the help-entry.

You do not need to take the window switches off to remove the door card.

The switch should come out but the loom might set a limit so you may have to disconnect it and remove afterwards.. It also is very tight fit and the clips are extremely tight/strong.

But, as said, there should not be any reason to take the switch off unless you are going to replace it and even then it is easier to take the card off first.

Taa.  And oh, b***er. 
Photos 5 & 6 in the guide showed the switch block on its way out - perhaps not needed.
So need to re-check for the secret screw - can't work out why can't be seen but need to re-check.
So probably wrecked the switch on the way.

The door cards are not that easy to get off, the screws are no problem, but you need a lot of pressure to get it off, all of mine needed gluing before I put them back on as the bit at the top broke away from the card, and don't forget the screw behind the tweeter, you can just about get your arm under the card and push the switch from beneath, its a pig to disconnect the wires from the switch unless you do pull it out before you remove the card, and I seem to recall the secret screw being in a long way, so not that easy to see even with the cover off

Okay, thanks all.

Looks like someone has been here before and the top right edge is glued but the left edge has come away.

The save cracking the bond that works, I've stuck the loose corner and will see how that goes.

The switch is damaged but I'll go with that for now.  The wiring behind seems free so I don't know what is holding the switch/plug there.

All screws (eventually) found and now replaced.
