Has anybody had one of those omega exhausts from the polish company selling on ebay, just wondering if they are any good or not as i understand the GM ones are not so hot anymore.
-
I think it's probably the same site I've looked at but I haven't tried them. If there was to be a problem with it I reckon it would be a fair bit of hassle returning it to them.
I've just had a quote from a company called Longlife for a complete stainless steel exhaust (from cat back)made to measure and fitted for £389.00 incl. VAT and fitting and comes with a lifetime guarantee. Although initially quite a lot of money I reckon it makes more sense. :y
Their link is here.....

If you want a budget exhaust from Ebay, try the other make (who also have their own website) called Eternal.

I had one off Ebay from what was described as Germany. It came well wrapped in what looked like a Polish newspaper and then brown paper. It only cost about £80 including carriage. It sounds like an £80 exhaust system but gets through the MOT here. Can't remember the Ebay user Id and don't know which one you refer to.
It looked to me like a "second" that had been adequately repaired by welding.
The alternative for me was either an Opel system full price or a Bosal for 500 euros. Out on cost and obtaining.
How much is the one on Ebay?

Hi, I bought one of these for my 2002, 2.2i cdx & fitted it in early June this year. It arrived in 5 days, cost me £139 if I remember right and fitted perfectly, it even came with a full fitting kit and assembly paste. It is a very well made bit of kit, manufactured by Theissen/Krupp of Germany. Only problem I found was the tail pipe was about 4inches short of my facelift bumper but this was sorted with a polished stainless steel tail extension, again from e-bay, and it doesn't sound any better or worse than the original exhaust. I fully agree with the other Poster, that a stainless exhaust would be the best option, as long as you have that kind of money available, unfortunately I didn't :( .
Hope this helps you make a more informed decision :y

Hello 'philrich', any chance you may remember the name or website ?

Re. philrich, sounds like the same, this is £139 + £25 shipping, i am just waiting to find out what the trade price is on GM one from a colleague that works on the Vx parts counter before i decide, my colleague and i can fit it so we won't get hit by the fitting costs.
In an ideal world (without 3 kids and a 4th on the way :'() i would have the Stainless one. I'm still being pressured to sell the omega and buy a zafira, which i am resisting.... :-[

Is this from neu-car-parts, Ebay ID?

Pitty you don't live near to me, as I've got a standard Middle & back box off a 2001 2.2 CD.
I've just had a stainless performance one from the cat back custom made for mine. Be a bit costly to send through the post mind !.
Try looking on the parts section on here, maybe some nearer can help you out ?.

It's a Powerflow one, and full custom made and brackets, and lifetime warrenty would of cost me £450, but got it done for £320 as I've always gone to them for any tyre repairs, or replacements, etc.
I thought it was a good deal, and it sounds sporty without sounding like the youths hothatch raspy stuck in a bog sounds that seems to be common place !!.

Hi again Richard A,
I bought it on e-bay from a Polish outfit called 'neu car parts'. Just e-bay search for 'omega exhausts' & you will find them. £139 + £25 delivery in my case. The item description appears to say it is a Stainless Steel system? it isn't, but the silencer appears to have stainless internals and this seems to be a mixup in translation from Polish to English. :)

Hi alexandjen,
Yes, thats the one :y
As I said earlier, I had no problems with mine, it appears to be a very well made system, especially at that price. Incidentally, it had been £20 cheaper the week before I bought mine but I waited until I had PM'd previous buyers to find out if they thought it a good buy! In every case, it was! and even £20 quid dearer I still think so too. Regards, Phil.

I'll add my voice to the ones recommending eternal exhausts - got mine (two silencers and single rear box) for £100 all in and fitted it myself in a day. It went straight in, no problems (apart from two snapped bolts on the join to the cat pipes, grrr), and works fine.
The rear pipe is a little short, but sits under the bumper just fine. I just need to pick up a short tailpipe to finish it off!
-
Although mine is a V6 i ordered mine from Eternalcar which arrived promptly, fitted well and is IMHO good value for money :y.
-
Okay, trade price appears to be £100 each for the 2 silencers without the back box so it's gonna be the polish exhaust for me after all unless i can find a way of getting smeggmatts one sent to me ;D

Try http://www.p4d.co.uk/
I use them all the time, most recently to send a huge great tent weighing 25kg and it costs £6.99 plus vat each way! They collect from you and guarantee delivery within 48hrs, tho usually it's 24hrs.
Highly recommended. :y

Sterling job, thanks for that.
pm sent to smeggmatt1

In my experience with couriers it is the length of the item that puts them off, not the weight ::)
