Counting the flashes does take some practise.

have you read the guide
http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1189022687
and watched the video?
http://images.omegaowners.com/images/guides/paperclip_test/paperclip.html

codes are displayed, with slight pause between digits.

so
1  11 would be 12, for start of codes,
111  1 would be 31 for no engine running
1  111111111 would be 19
1111111  1111 would be 74 if that helps at all?

without the codes, its hard to know where to start.

If youve got it to flash then your halfway there  :y
it flashes the codes each 3 times
starting with 12 ie 1 and a couple of seconds then 2
then if you have any codes ie engine out 31 so it will flah 3 times then 1 and that also three times
when it is finished telling you the codes it will give you the 12 again

It is not hard but can be confusing at times. hope this helps a bit :y

DONT go changing parts until you confirm thats at fault.
it may be fine, and youve wasted your monet
it may be faulty off the shelf, and then mask the problem you are trying to fix.

It may be Crank sensor, but these dont often put the management light on, so please please check for codes 1st  :y

As Jimbob says, don't replace parts until you do the paperclip clip test.
