Hi all and thanks for reading.
Im going to look at an Omega 3.0 V6 Elite tomorrow, 1 owner from new, 50,000 FSH. AUTO. Year 2000.
I'd just like to know an ''honest'' opinion and general concensous on these cars. Of course you guys are going to be biased. ;)
a - Im mainly frightened to death about fuel. I have book figures of 23mpg on an auto. What do we reckon? I read on some ads, guys and girls say they get 28 round town...? My driving will be mainly round town. Ive also read its purely how you drive as to mpg and 30 is easily obtainable?
b - Anything particular to check over when I go look at it, main problems?
c - General concensous on AUTO's? Of course Id like a manual, but theyre rare as rocking horse ****!!!
Thanks for reading
Look forward to opinions.

Hi and welcome to the forum.
Low 20s around town is more realistic, but you should get into the 30s on a run.
The cambelt and tensioners should be replaced every 40,000 miles or 4 years which ever comes first, check the front tyres for uneven wear and feel for tramling when driving(worn bottom arms, steering idler). You may see some mayo on the oil filler neck which is normal if doing short journeys and check for anti freeze in the cooling system.
Heated front seats don't normally work especially the driverside

a) if you are worried about fuel costs well 16mpg with lots of short trips isnt that unrealistic...23 if the round town trips are a little more substantial...28-34 on the motorway quite normal...its a heavy car with a big engine so it takes a lot of fuel to shift it from standing but once on the move its not too bad :y But the car is big and luxurious feeling, very comfortable and you will find other cars like driving a go kart once you have driven one of these...they are a total pleasure to drive
c) Great cars auto is nice on these and not an issue at all I would say...works fine with the sports button, very smooth
