Title: Instrument panel printed circuit board?
Post by: Jan Suhr on 17 August 2009, 16:23:18
On my 2001 omega the printed circuitboard on the backside of the intstrument panel has been damaged. I had it removed a while ago and the circuits for the battery lamp is broken.

I wonder if the printed circuitboard/foil is available as a sparepart. It looks like it is replaceable.

Thanks

Jan

Send me a PM with all the numbers from the board.

I have a number of instrument panels and would be quite happy to supply you with the circuit board if required.

Regards .......... Rob

The 'board' is not available seperately.

If you get replacement instruments, make sure its right for your year of car, and your engine (varies).

If you manage to locate a new 'board', it may well need programming/configuring via Tech2

If it's just a copper track or two that has broken, it's quite straightforward to repair with thin wire and a (small, low-power) soldering iron. Old-fashioned lead-based solder is probably better as its melting point is a bit lower than 'modern' stuff.
Just scrape down to bare shiny copper either side of the break(s) and link across with some fine wire.
A little of the plastic may melt, but not too much if you're quick.
