Hi Oofers
I think there is a dead something in my windscreen washer system as it really pongs when you squirt the jets at the screen.
Is it possible to simply drain the tank or should I just fill to brim with clean water and carry on filling so the system sort of flushes itself then add concentrated windscreen wash.

Probably a dead rat ;)

;D ;D ;D or a dead miggy! :D :D ;)
Personally I would drain the tank completely by using the washer jets continually, then refill and repeat. When you refill the tank finally ensure you put some good quality windscreen wash / anti freeze in the mix. ;) ;)
I suspect you have just stagnant water in there at the moment :P :P

It's not too bad a job to remove the pumps, then flush it out with hot water (wear gloves, else your hands will ming for days). Then top up with fresh screenwash and water :y

Have a look HERE (http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1152616577) , it's the guide to cleaning the washer system ;) :y

Just bung the end of the hose pipe into the filler neck of the washer bottle and flush it till all the water flowing out is clear. It'll take a long time, and possibly a burnt out pump before you flush the tank with the washer pump. As the guide suggests, the filter/grrommet will have its own eco system living in it, preventing water flow through it.

I agree with you .... who'd disagree with a woman? :-X ;) ..... mine's a quicker easier way of flushing the tank. :y :y :y

I always use a hose, it only takes a few minutes. if you pump it out, you will send all the crud from the bottom of the tank straight into the jets. When you buy windscreen additive, smell it first, some of the cheap stuff smells like something has died in it already!
