Hi all my old man got a 2.0 16v auto so today i did a coolant change but iv been having probs with it.Iv cleaned it all out and the matix, new thermostat,With all that it will only take about 6 littres of water.I ran the car for a while to get it nice and hot and when i rev it u see the water in the tank drop then a few sec later it comes bk and comes out the tank like a water fall so am i right in thinking its the pump thats gone

It will do! The same reason you don't just take the cap off form a car that's hot ... unless you like being scalded  ;)
Normally from cold ..... fill the header tank, run the engine, 'burp' the main rad hoses and top up as required. Put cap on and that's it. Check the level closely over the next day or so.  :y

It's unusual for the impellor to dissolve/fall off and failed water pumps usually show up as a leak from the 'tell-tale' at the bottom of the pump itself ........

Could be an air lock, gently squease the hoses with the cap off to see if any air comes out.

As the lads said bleed your system again leave the filler cap off and turn your heating on full and on hot, squeeze the pipe on the right side of the cooler ( seen from front) and top up if needed :y
