Title: Steering play when parked
Post by: Omegadoha, Desert Member on 22 August 2009, 18:08:08
Is it normal to have a bit of play in the steering when the car is off and parked up. I can move my steering a bit from side to side with no effort. Juat doesn't sound right to me, I thought it would be tight.

There should be some but not exessive, if you want you can adjust the steering box but you will need to follow the instructions in the maint guide. :y

Thank you. Just noticed you're in Mitcham. I used to live off Church Rd (about 20 mins walk from Savacentre or Colliers Wood tube).

Excellent, I used to live down Rodney Road, access from miles rd off Church Road. Tight road mind you and we used to own an Astra then.  :y It was excellent for practising reversing though.

It is still pretty much as you left mate, only the town centre has changed, oh and the amount of traffic that squeezes through it every morning.  :o

That's where the scrap dealer is (or was) isn't it?

No as I've said Rodney Rd above, which is located on the other side.
